April Oh, PhD, MPH was a Cancer Research Training Fellow at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). She earned a Doctorate in Community Health Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree in Health Management and Policy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelors of Public Health degree in Health Policy and Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Oh's doctoral work examined the association between the social and built neighborhood environment and physical activity among minority women living in the City of Chicago.

During her public health training, Dr. Oh worked as part of the research team for the NIH Centers for Population Health and Health Disparities, examining health disparities in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. As a fellow, Dr. Oh's research projects included an examination of the association between acculturation and adherence to multiple cancer preventive health behaviors, and racial/ethnic disparities in awareness of physical activity and reduced cancer risk. Dr. Oh's research interests are in the contextual and policy influences on diet and activity behaviors, and racial/ethnic and socioeconomic health inequalities. Dr. Oh's current research includes examining contextual influences on eating episodes among adults and children, and examining state physical education and nutrition policies in public schools.
