NOTE: Ms. Gaysynsky is a Marketing Communications Analyst at ICF International providing support to the Behavioral Research Program. This page reflects her time as a fellow; find her staff profile here.

Anna Gaysynsky was a Health Communications Intern from 2013-14 with the Health Communication and Informatics Research Branch (HCIRB) within the Behavioral Research Program (BRP) of the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS). She is currently working as a Marketing Communications Analyst in HCIRB.

Ms. Gaysynsky graduated from New York University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in media, culture & communications and earned a master's degree in public health from Columbia University in 2013. Wanting to combine her background in communications and public health, Ms. Gaysynsky decided to focus on the utilization of social media technologies in the health care setting to improve patient well-being, as well as the use of social media data to generate insight about the knowledge, attitudes, and health behaviors of different populations. For her master's thesis Ms. Gaysynsky investigated whether Facebook could be used to facilitate social support exchange among adolescent patients and whether this would affect their engagement in care.
