The translational aspect of Dr. Fowler's work focuses on the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based medicine into comprehensive cancer control planning. In both her research and practice of cancer prevention and control, Dr. Fowler adopts a systems approach with the emphasis on multilevel influences, and their interactions, and how this knowledge can be used to inform state cancer planning activities and population-level interventions.

Dr. Fowler took a position with the Precision Medicine Initiative in January 2017.
