"Where are they now?": Following up with past BRP fellows
Updated January 2019

Current Title
Assistant Professor
Mercer University College of Pharmacy

How has your BRP fellowship influenced your career?
As a BRP Fellow, I had the ability to learn about the government's role in public health, hone existing and develop new skills, and identify what career pathways I wanted to pursue.

Describe a favorite memory or two from your fellowship experience.
One of my favorite memories is attending the Fellows Symposium. It is an opportunity to hear about the projects and work other fellows are completing. Many times, it is also a call for collaboration with fellows you may not encounter on a daily basis.

Describe your current position, your current organization, and what you do.
I am an Assistant Professor in the College of Pharmacy at Mercer University. My current portfolio has three areas of focus: 1) rural health disparities, 2) social media and health communication, and 3) pharmacy practice.

Awards, Honors, and Recognitions
I was a recipient of 2018 NCI Director's Award for Oversight of Programmatic Vision: Skin Cancer and UV Protective Behaviors Research Team. My team and I were nominated "For Leadership in the Development of New Frameworks, Methodologies, and Initiatives to Advance Research on Skin Cancer and UV Protective Behaviors."
