Kaitlin (Katie) Akif, M.P.H., is a designated Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) in the Office of the Associate Director in DCCPS, who is currently doing a rotation with BRP. Ms. Akif has also rotated through EGRP and HDRP, and during these rotations she has performed different tasks such as portfolio evaluations, co-writing commentary/literature reviews with various program directors/staff, and coordinating meeting logistics for different working groups.

Prior to becoming a PMF, Ms. Akif was a Research Coordinator at Westat for the Children's Health Exposure Analysis Resource (CHEAR). In this role, Ms. Akif had multiple responsibilities, including managing the workflow of CHEAR projects and Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) projects; coordinating logistical aspects, and providing administrative support for CHEAR meetings; and maintaining records of CHEAR publications and outreach efforts.

Ms. Akif received her M.P.H. with a focus in Epidemiology from George Washington University in 2017. While completing her M.P.H., she was inducted into the George Washington University chapter of Delta Omega. Ms. Akif also worked as a Public Health intern at the Children's National Medical Center where she was able to preliminarily evaluate the Pediatric Emergency Department enhanced Sexually Transmitted Infection program.

Ms. Akif also has a B.S. with honors from the University of Arizona, majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Chemistry.
