Donna Hopkins is a program specialist in the Basic Biobehavioral and Psychological Sciences Branch within the Behavioral Research Program (BRP). Before coming to NCI, her career in the private sector included experience in IT, health care, and communications. One of the highlights of her work at NCI was a detail with the NIH Clinical Center Office of Communications and Media Relations. In this role, she helped the Discovery Channel produce a multi-part series about the NIH Clinical Center. The series provided the public with an in-depth look at the Clinical Center's work and the work of NIH more broadly. In 2023, Ms. Hopkins received the NCI Director's Award for Leading Diversity: NCI Equity and Inclusion Group. From 2020-2023, she served as a DCCPS co-chair for the Committee on Racial and Ethnic Equity and Discrimination (CREED). Since 2021, Ms. Hopkins has been participating in the BRP mentoring program; she has worked with the DCCPS Fellows Program, and currently she is working within communications. She is a member of the DCCPS Primary Care Working group. Ms. Hopkins has a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree and an associate degree in Radio/TV Communication from Fairmont State University.
